Three years ago, he incited an insurrection, and he continues to provide aid and comfort to insurrectionists to this day. Yet he remains essentially unchallenged by a weak government that makes exceptions for him.
While a few sensible and competent individuals — for example, Jack Smith — are fighting for the survival of representative government, the vast majority of people in government, media and elsewhere continuue to empower an impotent near octogenarian and a very unstable moron. They continue to put Donald Trump in the poll position for the presidency, a man who should currently be serving his second term in Federal prison.
In a functioning representative government, one in which its elected officials honored their oaths and ensured that the 14th amendment is faithfully executed, the situation would be much different.
The 14th Amendment Is In Plain English
In a functioning government that honored the Constitution, the 14th amendment would have been invoked on January 7, 2001 and Mike Pence would have been sworn in as president. Every sane person — and members of both parties — would pat themselves on the back for a well-done job. And then get back to business.
