The Decorum Police Who Supported the Violent Insurrection of January 6th
The GOP rushes to their fainting couches and strikes back at those who dare to challenge their bigotry.
The two black legislators in the Tennessee House were loud and rude. The Montana legislator used inappropriate language. These people must be silenced or, better yet, removed. According to the GOP.
In yet another outlandish case of blindingly obvious hypocrisy, the Montana GOP is trying to silence a transgender lawmaker because she allegedly used inappropriate language while speaking out against proposals by the GOP to — let’s call it what it is — abuse transgender children and use them as political pawns. In this case, they are calling for the Representative to be censured.
Here’s what Rep. Zooey Zephyr said:
“If you are forcing a trans child to go through puberty when they are trans, that is tantamount to torture, and this body should be ashamed. The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.”
This language is strong and true. It reminds me of Senator George McGovern’s speech on the Senate floor, speaking out against the Vietnam War and the Senate’s complicity in that…
