The Governments of Every Nation on Earth Are Climate Deniers

When your house is on fire, you don’t circulate a petition or hold a meeting. You don’t do a news conference. You don’t make targets to put out the fire in 2 decades or so. You don’t negotiate a bill that promotes fires because it’s politically expedient and the best you can do.

No, when your house is on fire, when there’s a real emergency, you PUT OUT THE FIRE.

Not a single country on Earth has declared a climate emergency and taken actual emergency measures. (A few have declared a climate emergency but have taken no significant action.) They all continue to use fossil fuels with no sign of slowing down. Any measures they are taking are, at best, symbolic. Worldwide C02 emissions are at record levels and continue to rise.

I’m sure if any of these leaders had a child who got seriously ill during the night, they’d take the child immediately to the emergency room. But, with EVERYONE’S child in desperate need of immediate help, these same leaders have STALLED FOR DECADES.

Whatever words they utter, they behave exactly like climate deniers. In effect, all of them are climate deniers.
