The heads of the 3 pharma companies who are obviously conspiring to inflate the price of insulin should all be charged with manslaughter, convicted and jailed. All 3 companies should be nationalized and put under the auspices of managers with medical expertise who have the ability to care about other human beings.
I can hear the howls of “socialism” or the rule of law. Those howls will fall on deaf ears in my case — as they should. Because the “free market” is a lie and there is no competition when money can be made through collusion.
Right now, we are supposed to be excited about a new bill that would limit monthly out of pocket costs for diabetics to get insulin to $35. And this, in fact, would be a big improvement.
However, the pharma vampires won’t lose a nickel on this. Because the bill doesn’t do anything about what those vampires charge for insulin. It merely shifts costs to others.
Why would this be? For the same reason that nearly every law favors wealthy corporations — because corporations give bribes — dishonestly referred to as “donations” — to politicians. These corporations also engage in massive propaganda campaigns, lies called “public relations” and they have lobbyists and “think tanks” to do their bidding.
