Maybe by publishing the intro here, I’ll get the oomph to get back to writing…
So, in the Summer of 2022, I was working on a book to be called The Great Turnaround. Then I got distracted, and never came back to it. I’ve got an intro, a bunch of chapter titles and some notes.
You will recognize the arguments and themes and ideas as the ones I still promote — but formulated a little differently. Let me know what you think.
Introduction
We are all in grave danger as ongoing climate abuse threatens to turn our beautiful planet into a deadly hostile place, one that will ultimately be uninhabitable by human beings. We have waited for decades, in vain, as leaders around the world failed to do anything meaningful to address the crisis.
We are at the point where the crisis is hitting home in a visible ways everywhere and anywhere. In Siberia, it topped 100 degrees. Each year we learn that the most recent year is one of the hottest recorded in human history. Wildfires of unprecedented scope and ferocity are becoming common. We are experiencing the same for heatwaves, droughts, floods and hurricanes.
Everything climate scientists have been warning us about for decades is coming true right now. As this terrible situation…
