The Meaning of “Emergency”

In an emergency, you are not restricted by tradition or rules. An emergency is a desperate situation requiring serious and immediate action.

We have hundreds of people starving and a supermarket with shelves overflowing with food. What do we do? Setup a GoFundMe campaign and hope we get enough money to buy the food before the people starve?

Or do we start passing out food from the shelves?

We have a genuine and critical climate emergency. And in this pressing crisis, we aren’t even doing the equivalent of setting up a GoFundMe campaign. We are simply dithering.

And the dithering is intentional. The authorities want to keep doing what they are doing — even though they are cooking the Earth and what they are doing must end because, in addition to dooming us, they are also killing themselves.

They think they are clever, but they are — in practice — astoundingly stupid. They actually expect to have a happy ending on a dead planet.

Even if they somehow outlive the worst, they will absolutely live to see their own children and grandchildren LOATHE them for their cruelty, selfishness, incompetence and outright willful insanity.

The Deflection of Attention and Responsibility Is Vanishing
