Virtual reality is just another scheme to control you, waste your time, and take your money.
We are living in a bubble of abstract invention so removed from reality that it’s amazing we can function at all.
We struggle to find and work at jobs — most of which involve producing nothing of value whatsoever. We do this to earn money — an abstract invention which is used, primarily, by the idle rich to steal from working people. We live under a system called capitalism — which values capital, and uses human beings as the means for a rare few to acquire more of it. We call our markets “free markets” but they are actually part of a plutocracy, with the rules constantly being re-written to favor the rich who use political “donations” (i.e. bribes) to buy laws and policies.
We live in a pretend world that requires the highest level of Orwell’s “doublethink” to keep the game going. Jobs are for us, but actually not for us but rather to enslave us and use us to benefit the rich. Capitalism channels the (alleged) natural selfishness of humans to benefit all of us — except in real life it’s created a compulsory extractive economy that’s turning the Earth into a hostile hellhole, unsuitable for ongoing civilization. “Free markets” are markets centered on low labor prices, and other rules and policies designed to keep working people…
