The one thing that could spark a change is if the immediate disasters ramp up and hit the wealthy and powerful people who determine policy directly. This may or may not happen.

Also, the growing frequency and severity of climate disasters might just force the collapse of the failed power structure. And not just the capitalist West. All the totalitarian regimes as well.

Maybe New Zealand’s government would survive…
