Sadly, it’s that time again. It’s September and the back to school shootings have begun.
Like clockwork, only perhaps more dependable, youngsters are returning to school and to their “hide under desks and be very quiet” drills with all of the excitement that entails.
The season started with a bang in Georgia. In Winder, Georgia, a 14 year old student at Apalachee High School shot and killed two students and two teachers. Nine others were injured.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has helpfully offered thoughts and prayers. I am not making this up.
The United States, which has no meaningful gun control laws and a culture of gun enthusiasts that regularly incite violence, has had 385 mass shootings so far this year. Nobody is surprised.
Vote For More Shootings. Or Not.
There is, admittedly, little or no chance of the United States joining the community of civilized nations by instituting sensible gun control laws nationwide.
For one thing, a super-majority of Supreme Court Justices (sic) are committed to an interpretation of the 2nd amendment that guarantees our country will remain the planet’s stupidest and cruelest shooting…
