The people and systems in power won't allow for a new social contract. We need to disobey and dis-empower them completely to build a new better world.
We must focus on the climate because that's destroying us RIGHT NOW. We need to end fossil fuels—yeah, full stop. It will be very painful because we spent 35 years after being warned to slash use doing the exact opposite. Now, there are no painless options.
But yeah, end fossil fuels now. And stop production of EVERYTHING EXCEPT true necessities—food, shelter, medicine and a small number of other necessities.
We must have an immediate worldwide emergency program, led by climate scientists, to end fossil fuels, end climate abuse and repair the planet.
This is our responsibility to our children, to everyone's children. We can't delay or worry about who to blame. We must ACT and ACT DECISIVELY. But only WE can. Leaders in business and government everywhere have failed catastrophically.
