The revolution in values needs to come before the worldly revolution.
I believe you underestimate humankind. Human babies are very vulnerable and for longer than nearly any other species. They require enormous amounts of love and care and sacrifice to survive to adulthood.
Yet, most do. This is evolution. People have very, very powerful instincts to be kind. It is human invented systems that teach and promote and reward greed, and power-lust, and cruelty and violence.
Both those systems and the values behind them must be rejected—forcefully, directly, consciously. We CAN do this.
Establishing a HUMANE humanity, while staving off climate collapse—which is in everybody's interest—is the objective of a movement called The Saners.
Easy? A slam dunk? No, but I believe it's the best chance for our species to have a better future...or any future at all.
