The science says that we are severely damaging the habitability of the Earth. It'll still be here, but many, many species will be decimated.
Many of us aren't happy to let our children and grandchildren be decimated. We don't want them to live a Mad Max existence.
In fact, many of us HEED the warnings of the climate scientists, and want to take the sensible and necessary measures like quickly and sharply reduce the production and use of fossil fuels.
