The Speech That Would Turn Me Into An Enthusiastic Biden Supporter

I’m voting for Biden and all Democrats because the vicious GOP must be stopped and their obsessive cruelty ended. But I’m not enthusiastic about Biden. This (sadly, imaginary) speech would change that, if followed by consistent actions.

Good evening, folks!

I’m here tonight to talk with you about mistakes I’ve made and how I intend to correct them.

I’m not embarrassed to admit making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. However, in my position, the decisions I make have outsized effects — good or bad, and often both. So, it’s incumbent on me or anyone holding this office to learn from mistakes and try to minimize them.

Before I go into specifics, I want to assure you that my mistakes, my decisions, my actions are all well-intended. I care. I want to do good, to help people, to make the world a better place for you and for everyone.

You may see me as the most powerful person on Earth, but there are forces that limit me, and affect my behavior. There are laws and rules and traditions — and I react to them, and typically obey them. I’m only human. And my job is to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed.
