Never waste a crisis
Time to fix the Earth.
The alarm just went off. Leaders worldwide want to hit the snooze, but we must defy them. They’ll tell us to ignore the alarm, and focus on inflation, Ukraine, and even oil and gas shortages (can you believe THAT?!) while they continue to literally cook our planet.
And there ARE other issues that require our attention. Shootings. Raped children smuggled across state lines to get an abortion. COVID, still. Any and every problem, real or imagined, is seized on to distract us from the burning of fossil fuels, which props up wealthy businessmen and the political leaders who they fund. They are a symbiosis of evil. The force that brings out the worst instincts in human beings is fueled by oil.
But the upshot is this: they will kill all of our children if we let ourselves be distracted, if we continue to follow rulers and rules that have brought us to the point that we SEE cities everywhere baking and SEE our forests — including the Amazon, the Earth’s lungs — consumed by wildfires. This is the EARLY summer, the summer of fire I predicted, a summer anyone could have predicted simply by reading the IPCC report.
