There ARE some forces at work that could help blunt climate collapse. But I believe they are all way too slow and many of them will be stopped by Big Oil and others. We are at a disadvantage when we deal with existing systems. We are not in charge.
However, we ARE in charge of our own labor. We can decide what work to do and what work not to do. You would never work as a concentration camp guard, or as an overseer beating slaves.
We want to make working in the oil, coal and natural gas industries the equivalent of working for the institution of slavery. We want to protect and provide for those who withhold their labor, and discourage others from taking their place. It's tricky and challenging but doable.
And THIS is within our control. Or we could stand around and hope that market forces will save us. I think the latter is foolish, dangerous and very unlikely to bear fruit.
