There is no ethical dilemma. The ConocoPhillips Death By Oil Project (which they euphemistically call “Willow”) cannot be justified whatever the law says. Just as the Jim Crow laws and Nuremberg laws were disgusting and it was morally obligatory to defy them, so it is with this drilling project—and all drilling projects.

We’ve known for decades that our expansive use of fossil fuels is destroying the climate and will bring hardship and death and quite possibly extinction for our children and grandchildren. The oil companies and gas companies and coal companies and their enablers in government and industry are, together, committing the greatest crime against humanity in history—in plain site.

This article is thoughtful, well-researched, clearly written—and superfluous. It’s time for ordinary people everywhere to take action against the insanity that justifies ruining our home planet and dooming everyone’s children.

We have begun. We plan to end the insanity in the same way that popular movements of the past have ousted dictators and humbled empires. We aren’t afraid of oil companies, media companies, governments, or anything else. We will not obey, we will not carry out their instructions and we will make it impossible for this terrible climate abuse to continue.

We will create a sustainable and humane society—replacing the shitshow we have today, with a civilization in which our descendants can happily live and thrive.

It’s insane to destroy our own planet—or allow shortsighted fools to destroy it.
