There's no way a device this new, odd and different from what went before would be an instant hit. Nearly every one of Apple's devices was met with skepticism from the beginning.

We ask ourselves, what is this FOR and why would I pay THAT MUCH for it. That's version 1 of anything, whether it ultimately turns out to be a hit or a flop.

Apple Vision Pro could turn out to be either. But I suspect it will be a hit...a few years from now...with version 3.

Just as I find it hard to believe that people will walk around outside wearing them, I find it hard to believe that people won't LOVE being surrounded and immersed in movies or live sports. I expect THAT to be the initial killer app.

Sadly, just as we walk around in the public staring at our phones (and yes, I do that too, at least sometimes), when the headset gets smaller, and lighter, and has a longer battery life, I'm afraid people will do that with these weird new googles, as well.
