This article is is way off. People don’t need to earn the right to anything and oldsters like me had it much easier than millennials and younger.

For decades productivity increased and not only did the work week not shrink, but wages stalled. Young people didn’t create this situation where job security is illusory and anyone will kill you to get an extra dime. We are witnessing the decay of an economic system that’s inadequate for the present and absurd for the near future.

Both capitalism and socialism are systems for allocating scarce resources. But science and engineering have progressed and scarcity is unnecessary. Scarcity is SO 20th century.

Trite arguments like these—the young are spoiled, they haven’t earned it—justify this abusive system, which tries to maintain scarcity with patents and monopolies and other tactics and simply blame the victims.

But as the Earth boils and buildings collapse and people go hungry this whole bunch of nonsense will end. We will swoop past this nonsense (no dramatic vengeful revolution necessary) and live comfortably with cheap food, infinite free solar energy, 3D printed goods and gene-therapy good health.

Goodbye—finally—to lifetimes of senseless labor. That senseless labor—entire lifetimes producing crap nobodies needs instead of LIVING—is immoral and now almost over.
