This is a good case but I believe the case for satyagraha is better. Gandhi’s experiments with truth concluded that moral force can often defeat physical force. Not only did India oust the mighty British Empire without violence, but Gandhi ultimately won over his “enemy” General Smuts.

In modern times, a movement founded by 5 college students removed the Serbian dictator without violence—and replaced his brutal regime with an elective government that continues to this day.

I think we make a terrible, yet understandable, mistake when we try to defeat evil with more evil. We forget that dictators and thugs have only one source of power—the active support of those who help him. If we lure those away—and, love IS more powerful than fear—we leave the dictator exposed and powerless. The dictator has no recourse but to flea—as Milosevic did when outmaneuvered by a handful of non-violent college students.
