This is a worldwide problem. As it happens, leaders and the institutions behind them have failed catastrophically for decades. They have failed at the most basic bottom line requirement that the world requires of them: to hand over a habitable Earth to the next generation.
Despite DECADES of advance warning, said "leaders" have continued to encourage the spewing of ever-greater quantities of C02 emissions into the air—exactly the opposite of what climate scientists told us was necessary. And, as a result, the entire biosphere is on the ropes.
So, yeah, there is a legitimacy crisis. Not a crisis in trust. These leaders and their totalitarian governments, their plutocracies, their fake money-poisoned so-called representative governments—they are all undeserving of our trust. And they are illegitimate.
Every sane caring person recognizes that these failures are an obstruction and a danger to everyone's safety and well-being. We know that they should be ousted and that responsible leadership—ideally spearheaded by qualified climate scientists and mature young people (our adult "leaders" are, in fact, spoiled and immature) and parents—people with a stake in the future.
Let's make the change. Let's take the initiative. Waiting and silence = death.
