This is the biggest failure of the United States government and it undermines what illusion of legitimacy it retains. This is especially true of the Republican SCOTUS. They unilaterally essentially repealed the 14th amendment as a gift to their favorite dictator in waiting.

The Court is obviously now a political branch of government, not a judicial branch.
