This is true. But we evolved to live on the Earth as it was before we started altering the climate with fossil fuels. We see essentially listing in the pool we are swimming in.

I’d say we’re pretty disgusting and, even though the pool doesn’t care, we should clean up our mess—if only for the swimmers coming after us.
