This is true. Humanity as a whole is starting to get it. We are realizing that our so-called leaders—political, business, institutional—are committed to protecting their wealth and power at the cost of destroying the Earth.

We are realizing that they cannot be trusted, that their laws and rules and institutions and—especially their VALUES—are sick and cruel and short-sighted and must be defied and replaced.

Toxic smoke over New York City? Fires the size of countries burnt to ash? Decades of literally cooking the planet with fossil fuels? Those people are not the solution—they are the ones who created these crises and who are committed to making them worse.

We won’t tolerate them. We will put climate scientists in charge of energy and climate policy. We will put young people—under 30—people who have skin in the game and functioning hearts—into leadership positions.

We will fix what the old order destroyed. Only we can do this. Because only we—billions of us who have been silent until now—care.
