This is true of all EXISTING economic systems. They are growth-oriented and based on extraction of resources from the Earth, ad infinitum. As such, they are all formulas for ecocide.
We must decrease births and shrink the human population to a size that fits in with us as a part of Nature, not as Nature's destroyer.
And we must slash production NOW, eliminating production of anything and everything that's really just a commodity—a shiny object to sell with no truly urgent purpose. And we need to end fossil fuels and the energy in our consciously SHRINKING economy must be CLEAN energy. And we need to animated by love and respect, not competition and greed.
It's sound impossible but it isn't. We CAN do this.
