This isn't the future. It's the present. And it isn't just Canadians who are dumbasses. Americans are, too. Every single year since scientists warned us publicly, with an expert testifying before Congress in 1988, every administration—both parties—have failed catastrophically to reduce carbon emissions.
Instead, they took money from fossil fuel companies and protect the Earth destroyers—ExxonMobil, Shell, BP and the rest. They have ALL failed catastrophically.
And WE have put up with the people. When people protest, WE get angry at people who throw paint on protective glass over great works of art. WE vote for people who promise to abuse the climate or for people who promise to protect the climate but never do.
WE need to end oil and end coal and end gas. WE need to oust or ignore or defy every purported leader who has failed or continues to fail at the minimum requirement for any respectable leader—turning a habitable planet over to the next generation.
