To Save the Earth, I Will Blast the Overton Window to Smithereens
It’s astounding how many truly evil and unthinkable things have become “the new normal.” Let’s replace the unthinkable evil with the unthinkable good.
In the 1940s, Franklin Roosevelt unveiled his “Four Freedoms.” They were bold, yet reasonable goals for the future — ideally the near future —intending to enshrine some fundamental human rights. Roosevelt unveiled them on January 6, 1941 — exactly 80 years before the treasonous MAGA insurrection of 2021.
We need to assert freedoms. We need to take an aggressive stand in support of humanity and Nature. We need to stop reacting and start asserting and demanding. We need to be persistent and unrelenting.
We need to dismiss and ridicule lies. We need to denounce cruelty. We need to tell the truth without restraint or compromise. We need to seize the microphone and then seize control.
We need to start a nonviolent revolution of goodness, of kindness, of empathy, of love. We need to demonstrate that good is, in fact, stronger than evil.
The good guys can and must win.
