Hey, it’s official! Killing is bad and Justice must be blind to picking sides.

The top prosecutor for the International Criminal Court has issued warrants for the arrest of the leaders of Israel and Hamas, who instigated massive brutal attacks against the civilians of Israel and Gaza. And leaders of both Israel and Hamas are very, very angry. Each think the murders they instigated was justified and the other guy is guilty of crimes against humanity.

Meanwhile, I’m a little annoyed at the New York Times, which like all modern journalism, has abandoned the inverted pyramid idea — which gives the reader all the basic facts in the first few paragraphs — in favor of a slow-moving feature story style. I didn’t learn that the prosecutor (and warrants) were coming from the ICC until the 18th paragraph, well inside the story which was continued on Page A8. Hey, guys — give the basic facts first, and then fill in the details! (Does this bother anyone else? Please let me know in the comments!)

In any case, it’s wrong to kill, and the Hamas attack of October 7th was premeditated mass murder. The Israeli response was not defensive; it was a massive brutal attack killing thousands and instigating a crisis of mass starvation. There are more than enough bloody hands to go around.
