It might not be strictly true that every crisis is an opportunity. But I believe the current crisis is one such case. Since we have no choice but to rebuild and reorganize the world, we can do it better. MUCH better.

Our failure started when we began to see ourselves as separate from Nature. We are simply one species in a planetary system. The entire system evolved together and forms a complex intertwined unit. You can’t cut up the planet or break off parts without damaging the whole.

Humans see themselves as special and separate and have reduced the planet and everyone else on it (often including other humans) to merely resources to exploit for personal satisfaction.

We can have a golden age of humanity ONLY when and if we learn to fully respect — no, love — our planet, other species, and Nature as She and we have developed together symbiotically. To do otherwise is like cutting off your own arm and then being alarmed and shocked when it’s gone.

Wait, the Planet Is Damaged and Getting Worse! How Can Things Become Wonderful?

Sadly, it’s true that we’ve damaged the planet and are coming closer to making the Earth permanently hostile to human life. This is a crisis and we must do…
