Draft of a letter to be sent to local environmental groups.
Imagine that dozens — no, millions! — of local environmental groups were hooked together, along with some bigger national and international groups. Imagine that we could help each other — that WE could mobilize to focus attention on and assist with your current local effort? And you could help the other groups in their efforts.
We are separated by geography but we are on the same planet, the Earth that we love and are committed to protect.
We propose a coordinated alliance. We propose that we share information, stay in touch and coordinate so that, instead of being a bunch of small disparate islands of caring, we become a gigantic community of caring — and action.
We will start informally. Sign up for the email list. Tell us about your current concerns and the kind of help you could use. We will share this info with the other groups. We will begin to know each other, and learn how to work together and be more effective than we could ever be separately.
