We are living in a science fiction universe. Unfortunately, of the many possible futures, the one our species has selected (so far) is a dystopia.
That we even HAVE war is evidence of the failure of our species to make progress.
As noted by many others, until our values and behavior advance to meet or exceed our technology, we are in deep trouble.
As a species, we behave and even think like spoiled children holding tantrums. That won't do. Some of us need to stand up, act like mature responsible adults, and take away all the toys from the feuding children.

Our situation is dire because we are destroying the ecosphere with fossil fuels. Oh, we lie about it and talk about energy transition and tell ourselves that technology will fix things or Elon Musk will save us or that markets are magic and will work out a solution.
But that's just not true. Like learning to NOT use nuclear weapons—something we have mostly succeeded at for nearly 80 years—we will need to stop burning fossil fuels. We will need to care for and protect our environment.
Destroying the planet that we all live on is insane. Our group is determined to protect Nature, protect our children's future, and establish a better more humane society.
