We DO need to continue living our lives as best we can. Of course, I'm also looking for ways for people to ALSO take serious action, to end business as usual, to stop the fossil fuel profiteers who are destroying everything.
I'm starting to think the engine ISN'T self-interest. I think people may be most likely to take action when motivated by moral outrage. Of course, they still need specific actions to take, meaningful ones. But, reading the history of movements, it looks like moral outrage is the key to getting people to look up from their immediate problems enough to make them TAKE ACTION.
