We must put out the fire before repairing the building. Slashing CO2 emissions is much quicker than carbon removal. And NOT immediately slashing CO2 emissions is literally insane.

We’ve been warned by climate scientists—like you—decades ago and the leaders who you say must take action have unambiguously established that they can’t or won’t do it.

But WE could slash CO2 emissions immediately by slashing production of everything that is unnecessary. How much crap do we produce? I’d say most of it. We need food, clothing shelter, medicine and a few other things. But we’ve got mountains of commodified plastic and metal crap that we make endlessly year after year.

If we just STOP, we’ve made the first big stride ever in addressing the climate catastrophe.

But WE will need to defy leaders—in every country—to do it. WE will need to withdraw consent and support of any systems, leaders, norms, and laws that threaten the climate. WE will need to put our full support behind an Emergency Climate Plan, created and managed by a team of experts—including climate scientists—a team that includes NO businessmen or politicians. Mostly scientists and engineers.
