When I was young and struggling, the sage advice was to put thousands of dollars every year into retirement accounts. Through the miracle of time and interest, you’d be able to retire comfortably.
I knew even then, that was bullcrap.
With my wife, we ate out at nice places, took trips and bought some nice things. And we even took on some debt.
At 65, I can absolutely confirm that’s the right move. Don’t let some a-hole expert who isn’t living your life convince you to sacrifice your youth.
As someone who is now older, I can tell you that experts in every field but the sciences and engineering are NOT experts—they’re frauds.
Especially in business and economics.
That’s your free advice. You can thank me when you hit 65.
