Which religion? What morality? The morality of churches that protect child molesters? The ones that supported slavery? I think the notion that there is the one thing called "religion" instead of a whole class of things...and that they in any way have a consistent record of promoting anything a benevolent person would call morality...well, I respectfully would like to say you are mistaken.

To me, modern theology is mostly finding ways to rationalize the repudiation of Jesus who said clearly and directly that we should love one another, love our enemies, be kind to strangers and foreigners, and renounce wealth.
