Why is it when there’s say, a world war, money isn’t a factor? When your house is in fire? I have a B.A. in economics and an MBA and I’m convinced that economists and businessmen have nothing to contribute towards solving this crisis.
No, “the economy” is not relevant. We never need to figure out how to pay for military weapons systems or favors to wealthy people or subsidizing the oil industry. This is a tired excuse we’ve been trained to accept.
But that won’t be stopping us. We are Saners.
BTW - I have been working on alternatives anyway…they aren’t necessary but could be useful. I’m talking about a concept called The Life Co-op. I’ve written about this before. But a simple UBI would do the job.
I think you might enjoy the book Utopia for Realists by Rutger Bregman. Or even Fully Automated Luxury Communism by Aaron Bastani. These guys have more to say about economics than I do! And they know a lot more...
