Dizzy Gillespie, jazz and cartoons.
I’m a fan of animation. Especially the animation artists of the 1950s through 1970s who made commercial cartoons to finance their brilliant independent projects.
Here are two with the jazz genius and all around lovable gentleman, Dizzy Gillespie.
The first, by John and Faith Hubley (with work by Shamus Culhane) is a Cold War masterpiece called The Hat (1964). The dialogue is Dizzy chatting with Dudley Moore.

The other is from a decade later. The animation is less brilliant, but Dizzy is still amazing! The title is A Voyage to Next.

Remember, art is important. It touches you deeply. It’s something you will remember fondly. It’s not just passing time, which is all your job can ever be.
