Yes. It's obvious to me that, in addition to ending the use of fossil fuels, we need to end the production of pretty much everything except food and perhaps medicine and some basic things required for survival.

Nothing is as energy efficient or clean as NOT producing crap. We will use bits of technology as needed, but not much. This will be a painful planetary change...and one that is unavoidable.

It's our challenge to make sure that our next world is less stupid and less evil than the one we live in now. The only bright part of this crisis is that learning to be better than we are is a very low bar to clear.
