This is the essence of people power. Remember: despots and other thugs DO NOTHING. They depend on ordinary people to do everything for them. Our active cooperation is essential for them to retain power.
We withdraw our active support, withhold our labor and our taxes, and they are toast. Yes, they can use violence—that's all they have. But the police and soldiers are our spouses, siblings, parents and children. They will, ultimately, side with us.
This is what has happened historically time and again. It's a bit tricky to execute but it is an unbeatable force.
We must use it to prevent climate collapse and to replace this cruel and failing civilization with one that values Life and the Earth.
