Yes. To run for the presidency, many candidates hide their own humanity. And it is our common humanity that makes us care about each other.

Dole—after his election big—and Romney—after his election bid—and Gore—after his election bid...became much more likable and relatable. That's because they became themselves.

We need to humanize everyone and each politician should stop pretending to be an automaton. It's not only in running for office and not only politicians. We must recognize the humanity in ALL human beings. This will make the cruelty and violence and hatred and bigotry that we see in the world become much more difficult to sustain.

I think community and humanity is SO much bigger than politics and us ordinary non-politicians can play a key role in making this necessary change.
