You are wearing ideological blinders but I won’t attribute evil intent to you because I’m certain your intent is benevolent. That said, I think it’s best to stop focusing on abstract labels, like libertarian or capitalist or leftist, because we tend to define those labels however we like to fit our existing conclusions.

I prefer to focus on specific issues, doing triage to emphasize the most critical ones. In my case, I care about ending our destruction of the climate. I don’t see it as a capitalist problem or a socialist problem. It’s a problem for Earthlings. It’s a problem for people of every situation, ethnicity, whatever.

It’s a chemistry problem and nobody has done nearly enough to even slow this accelerating crisis. We need to stop burning fossil fuels and replace them with clean energy—very quickly.

I don’t give a f-ck whether it’s Communist Chinese or capitalist Americans—every person in a position of power should be getting this done. I don’t give a f-ck if giant corporations make the biggest profits ever by stabilizing the climate or if they go bankrupt.

This is for all of our children—working people, oil executives, minorities, libertarians and mugwumps. We all share the same planet and, in this case, the same fate.

Let’s not blow it.
