Maybe sometimes you should listen to people who know things?
You did your own research.
I listened to the climate scientists.
You did your own research.
I listened to the epidemiologists.
You did your own research.
I called a plumber, an engineer, a veterinarian.
I never call a politician, an ideologue, a religious “leader”, a businessman or a PAC-supported think tank for their “expertise.” I call people who study and investigate and work hard to understand. I call people who have actual expertise — not a lust for power and a pathetic need for attention.
Go ahead. You do your own research. I do my own thinking. And I talk with other thinking, caring and humane people. My thinking has concluded:
The climate crisis is real, caused by humans, and requires us to slash C02 emissions and make other changes to preserve the habitability of the planet.
COVID and other diseases can largely be prevented and managed using masks, vaccines and other tools at our disposal.
Violent attacks on a government facility and targeting government officials with intent to subvert an election and retain power for an election loser is an insurrection.
Bribes of public officials from wealthy people (ridiculously called “donations”) is not “speech” — it’s subversion of representative government.
Cooperation and kindness is a proper basis for morality. Competition and selfishness is a recipe for disaster and death.
