You expressed the right wing point of view better than I've heard almost anyone express it. For that, I sincerely thank you.

That said, I think you greatly misunderstand the left wing and the Democrats. The disagreement between the two parties isn't merely issues—it's an entire world view.

That makes it hard for us to understand each other. Oh, and incidentally, I don't think I'm typical of Democrats, so don't take me as being fully representative of them. But I certainly understand them well enough.

As far as I can tell, the GOP and MAGA (and they are the same thing now) view America as a country under siege by hostile foreign powers—primarily China—and even "allies" who take advantage of us. They also see immigrants as a threat, because they are rapists and murderers, and because they take our jobs and our resources.

The Democrats are "the enemy within" and it's appropriate for the incoming administration to take revenge against them.

Freedom means, essentially, unfettered markets and unrestricted guns. Markets are the engine of productivity and guns provide our safety.

Please correct me where I'm wrong, but this is how I've seen prominent GOPers—especially Trump—express their views.

Now, here’s (more or less) what the Democrats think. I believe that what I am about to explain is what Democratic VOTERS want, but Democrats politicians will serve their big donors first and so may not carry out the policies they verbally tout.

But...

Our country is awash in corporate money, and policy reflects the interests of the ultra-wealthy. But the wealthy don't do much; all of the work and all of the production is performed by ordinary working Americans.

They also pay the taxes while Trump and Musk and other wealthy moochers collect big government contracts and evade taxes through offshore shelters.

Democrats think the American people deserve value for their tax dollars. Instead, those dollars are funneled to the wealthy, and programs that help people are slashed and "privatized", meaning turned into additional profit centers for the ruling class.

For their taxes dollars, and for contributing to Social Security and Unemployment Insurance every goddam paycheck for their entire lives, they should get a dependable safety net and NOT need to worry about losing jobs or being too old to work.

The Democrats are not seeking privileges for any group. They wanted EQUAL RIGHTS for women, but the Equal Rights amendment was vilified and defeated by the GOP. They recognize that some groups are treated unfairly and often brutally and the Democrats want the cruelty and brutality to stop.

That's not "wokism." That's simply being a sensible and kind human being.

Oh, finally, the Democrats lost an election—not America. They lost by less than 2%. The map with all the Red would make sense if LAND voted but it doesn't. PEOPLE vote and the people are pretty damn near divided in half politically.

I also would like to point out that THE CLIMATE IS COLLAPSING and nobody has done anything about it, from any party. The GOP is more enthusiastic about completing the destruction of the climate and ruining the planet so our children will struggle for survival on a hostile Earth. And the Democrats lacked the backbone or conviction to take the bold action necessary.

By 2028, and every year beyond, everyone will care and be in a panic over the climate. Production everywhere will be impacted, and we will start seeing increasingly severe food and water shortages. Immigration will increase everywhere. People will be fleeing parts of America.

At that late date, more of us will recognize (belatedly) that we are all simply human beings living finite lives on a planet we are willfully destroying

The extreme stupidity of what we have done will finally be recognized. I hope we can salvage enough so that our children will have a chance—and won't hate us forever, although we will have given them every reason to do so.
