You know what? What matters is what is actually happening in the world. And despite their imperfections—sciences is very difficult—climate scientists provide the best information we have.
All of life is figuring out what to do in the face of incomplete and imperfect information. We know enough to know that we cannot ignore the crisis and make excuses for doing nothing.
We know that C02 emissions and methane and other human caused environmental actions are threatening our climate and the immediate and long term future of our species.
We know that, following failed leader who take money from petro-plutocrats, we pissed away decades, continuing to expand use of fossil fuels when we were warned to switch away from them.
Whether it's 1.5 degrees or something else, IT DOESN'T MATTER because we've made no credible effort to reduce emissions at all. And we still aren't doing it and we will never do it under the current leaders, current economic and political systems, current dominant ideologies, and culture we have today.
We must reject all that, find our common humanity, learn to be a community, respect and love our planet, lose our addiction to "stuff" (which is simply mountains useless crap produced solely for sale), and restore our planet insofar as possible so our children have a future.
