You present a compelling case. And, I would not be surprised if you turn out to be correct. I will say that, personally, I am really concerned that the oceans have absorbed their limit and that out-gassing will kill us all.
Whatever the actual details. what's happening is clearly very, very bad.
However, even alarmists like Hansen are STILL calling for meaningful action, a genuine effort to combat the crisis. Of course, our "leaders" everywhere have failed catastrophically for decades to do anything—except to INCREASE fossil fuel use and set record levels of CO2 emissions.
So, even though I'm seeing a severe and growing crisis, I am not (yet) ready to give up. The climate is complex and, even though we've been abusing it for hundred of years (or longer), we might still have a chance.
Might.
That's why I've started a movement to put qualified climate scientists to develop and lead a worldwide emergency program to try to stabilize the climate or at least mitigate the damage. Obviously, politicians and businessmen—the people who HAVE been making policy—should not be in charge of anything.
Climate scientists have the expertise. And perhaps even within that group, we should favor the alarmists—the ones who would make take the strongest possible actions to protect Nature.
In any case, our group plans to use Gandhian tactics to sideline failed leaders, and empower climate scientists. As a species, are we really going to destroy ourselves without making an effort to stop the destruction? I am giving it my best shot. Others are interested in doing the same. I think everyone who loves their children and/or respects Nature should join the effort. We think that it's insane to allow stupid, short-sighted and self-centered "leaders" to destroy this beautiful planet.
