The most important motion picture of all time hasn’t been made.
I’ve written several stories about ordinary people overwhelming the status quo and saving the climate and the future of their children in a peaceful revolution. This idea hasn’t (yet) planted itself in the public imagination.
We CAN imagine the status quo continuing as is, and presiding over the final destruction of Nature and ending human civilization through their ignorance and incompetence. We saw that happen in Don’t Look Up.
But we haven’t seen the good guys — ordinary people like you and me — win. It’s as if victory of life over greed was not only impossible, but actually unimaginable.
My climate revolution stories are short and have tiny audiences. They aren’t, I admit, great art. But talented creators COULD and SHOULD be making solid and compelling stories to put these important ideas into the minds of millions. We CAN win but we don’t realize it. Once we DO realize it, victory becomes a genuine possibility. Furthermore, the climate destroyers are put on the defensive.
